The ice arena has always been a part of my life’s journey. It began when I first stepped onto the ice as an eight-year-old beginner skater, continued through my competitive and testing years, and later led me to coaching while earning my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. My coaching career began at Homewood-Flossmoor Ice Arena and continues today at Arctic Ice Arena.
Throughout this journey, skating has been more than a sport—it has been where I discovered my passion, built lifelong friendships, and found the joy of helping others learn and grow.
As a Gold Medalist in Free Skate and Skating Skills (formerly Moves in the Field), and with a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, I have developed a strong foundation for helping skaters achieve success. My experience as a Physical Education teacher, combined with raising two children involved in skating, has further expanded my ability to create engaging, effective, and enjoyable lessons.
Today, I specialize in working with beginner figure skaters and hockey players, helping them build confidence, develop strong fundamentals, and foster a lifelong love of skating.
