Liara has over 20 years of experience in coaching group and private lessons. As an athlete, she earned her Gold Medal in Skating Skills and a Silver Medal in Freeskate. She has competed at the Upper Great Lakes Regionals Championships and the Midwestern Synchronized Skating Championships. During her collegiate career, she skated for Illinois skating at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. As an undergraduate and graduate student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Liara taught collegiate level courses on figure skating. She is a member of US Figure Skating and the Professional Skaters Association. Liara currently holds a Registered rating in Skating Skills with the Professional Skaters Association and is actively working towards additonal ratings in Freeskate and Skating Skills. She completed the Hockey Skating 1 Certificate with the Professional Skaters Association. In addition to coaching figure skating, Liara is a licensed clinical social worker that specializes in mental health which has become instrumental in preparing skaters for testing and competitions.
